About Us

PLAN4NU is a collaboration between two Fiduciary Advisors, Troy Brockmeier and Jeremy Armagost. From students to clients, Troy and Jeremy enjoy educating on a broad range of personal financial topics including investments, retirement, Social Security, and taxes. PLAN4NU is designed to give the University of Nebraska employees an outlet to learn about the NU retirement plan as well as how to determine if they are retirement ready. Troy Brockmeier, CFA

Troy Brockmeier, CFA of Oldfather Financial Services focuses on working with families by creating sound financial plans and managing their investment portfolios. He has an extensive background in banking and finance as President of Wells Fargo, President of Nebraska National Bank and Chief Financial Officer of Patriot Technologies in Kearney. Prior to that he was Portfolio Manager for the National Bank of Commerce and the investment management firm of Wells Fargo in Lincoln. He graduated from the University of Nebraska-Lincoln in 1990. He earned his Chartered Financial Analyst designation, an elite professional credential covering all aspects of financial investing.

Troy has served as Chairman of the Kearney Area Chamber of Commerce, Chairman of the United Way Campaign, President of Kearney Sertoma and Committee Chair of Boy Scout Troop 158 where his sons earned the rank of Eagle. Troy is currently actively involved with the Rowe Sanctuary, First Lutheran Church, and the Kearney YMCA. For the past few years, he has been an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska-Kearney in the Finance Department.

On a personal side, Troy has been married over thirty years to Marti Brockmeier who is the bookkeeper at First Lutheran Church. They have 3 children, John is attending Yale University, Charlie is a sophomore at Raikes School at UNL, and Darin is a Junior at Kearney High School.


Jeremey Armagost, CFP

Jeremy Armagost and his team at Wealthplan Partners located in Kearney, Nebraska have a deep understanding of the financial services industry. Jeremy is a Certified Financial Planner™ and has earned his Master's Degree in Financial Planning. He also earned the RICP which is an advanced designation dealing with retirement income planning and the WMCP which is a specialized designation dealing with advanced wealth management topics.

Jeremy specializes in helping mass affluent individuals prepare for and transition into retirement. Covering such topics as when to take social security, helping you get financially organized, designing an income plan to be confident you won’t run out of money, tax planning, risk planning, Medicare planning, and estate planning.

Prior to his financial planning career, he graduated from the Air Force Academy and spent 10 and a half years as an instructor pilot in the Air Force, flying C-130s. He recently retired as a Lt. Col. in the Air Force Reserves and continues to serve as a Liaison Officer for the United States Air Force Academy Admissions program. For the past few years, he has been an adjunct professor at the University of Nebraska-Kearney in the Finance Department.

Jeremy and his wife Angela keep busy outside of work with their two daughters, Jane and Kate.

If you decide to work with either advisor you will receive a comprehensive PLAN4NU report that would encompass:

  • Asset allocation and Portfolio Review

  • Are you on track?

  • 1040 Tax Return Planning

  • Net Worth (including review of debt) Analysis

  • Retirement Income projections

  • Social Security strategy

  • Analyze "holes" in your current plan

The fee for the custom plan would be $2,400 (billed with a quarterly fee of $600.)

In addition, your University Retirement Accounts can be professionally managed by opening a Fidelity Self-Directed account for an ancillary fee. The Advisor will provide a proposal for the investment management services.
